Description

(Walt Disney Studios, 1928) Sought-after original drawing of Mickey Mouse from Steamboat Willie, which show the iconic mouse's head, body, and arms with percussion mallets. Accomplished in graphite on 10.5 x 8 animation paper marked in the upper right, "67." Image measures 6.5 x 2.5. Impressively multi-matted to an overall size of 18 x 15.5. In fine condition. During a wonderful musical sequence in Steamboat Willie, Mickey cheerfully opens a bull's mouth to play percussion on the oversized teeth. A remarkably early and desirable production drawing from the debut of Mickey Mouse, and the first Disney cartoon to feature synchronized sound.
