Signed book: Oration on the life and character of Gilbert Motier de Lafayette, Delivered at the request of both houses of the Congress of the United States, before them, in the House of Representatives at Washington, on the 31st December, 1834. Washington: Gales and Seaton, 1835. Hardcover bound in dark green morocco with gilt spine decoration, 5.5 x 8.75, 94 pages. Signed and inscribed on a sheet tipped to the title page in ink, "Charles G. Ferris, from John Quincy Adams." Autographic condition: fine. Book condition: VG-/None, with scuffing and rubbing to boards and spine, losses to head of spine, bumped corners, and a "Library of Lawrence E. Miller" blindstamp to a rear page.
