Official Government Printing Office booklet containing the "The State of the Union: Address of the President of the United States delivered before a joint session of the two houses of Congress, January 6, 1947," 12 pages, 6 x 9, signed and inscribed on the front in fountain pen, "To Mrs. Winifred D. Biocek, from, Harry S. Truman, 12/10/56." In the address, Truman remarks upon the importance of cooperation between the legislative and executive branches, exalts the strong postwar domestic economy, and discusses foreign affairs. In very good to fine condition, with several creases, and a "Library of Lawrence E. Miller" blindstamp to the final page. Accompanied by a custom-made presentation folder with gilt spine titling.
