Highly decorated United States Army officer (1909-1993) who fought in World War II and the Korean War, remembered as the target for an assassination attempt by Lee Harvey Oswald in April 1961. Vintage glossy 8 x 10 photo of Walker in uniform, signed and inscribed in fountain pen, "Mr. & Mrs. K. H. Browne, In appreciation, with best wishes, Edwin A. Walker, Maj. Gen. U.S. Army, 1 Aug. 1961.” Reverse bears an "Official U.S. Army Photograph" stamp and collector's annotation indicating that it was received in August 1961. In very good to fine condition, with scattered light creasing.
