Vernon Duke outlines his prolific body of work

American composer and songwriter (1903-1969) noted for his collaborations with Ira Gershwin, E. Y. Harburg, and Sammy Cahn. ALS signed “Vernon Duke (Vladimir Dukelsky),” five pages two sets of adjoining sheets, 5.25 x 6.75, Surfside Hotel letterhead, no date. Letter to ASCAP manager John G. Pane, in part: "Your communication re: ACA-ASCAP survey was forwarded to me…I, therefore, hasten to comply with your request. Vladimir Dukelsky (Vernon Duke), b. October 10, 1903, Pskoff Russia, now residing in New York, American citizen." He goes on to outline the body of his work in detail, breaking it down into "Symphonic Works," "Ballets and Operas," "Chamber Music," and "Choral and Vocal Works," including: "Two symphonies…The 2nd symphony, along with George Gershwin's 'American in Paris,' was chosen to represent the U.S.A. at the London and Oxford Festival of the international society of Contemp. Music in 1931…'Zephyr and Flora' (1924-25) produced by the Ballet Russe (Serge Diaghilev) in Monte-Carlo, Paris, Berlin, London, Barcelona, etc…'Entr'acte' (1938-39) in collaboration with George Balanchine…Ballets in various musicals also Goldwyn Follies' (1937) under Vernon Duke…'Demoiselle-Paysanne' opera in 2 acts based on Pushkin." In fine condition.
