"I'm writing instead to apologize & go down on bended knee!"

ALS signed “Diana,” one page both sides, 6.25 x 8, personal Kensington Palace letterhead, June 18, 1990. Letter to Sergeant Ronald Lewis, in full: "Aren't I hopeless? I totally forgot to send my card to you for your birthday today & I'm writing instead to apologize & go down on bended knee! I'm sure that you made the most of the day, maybe with our friend Tearaway Burrows—? However, I do hope that the day was a particularly happy one!" In fine condition. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope. Sergeant Ronald Lewis served as the traveling yeoman to the Prince and Princess of Wales, and following their divorce in 1996, he continued to work as yeoman to Princess Diana. A highly valued member of the royal staff, Sgt. Lewis worked for the royal family for a total of 29 years and was awarded the Royal Victorian Medal for services to the Monarch.
