Two TLSs as Governor of California, both signed "Ron," one page, 7.25 x 10.5, State of California letterhead, both addressed to Ken Browne. The earlier letter, October 9, 1973, in part: "Things are rather hectic right now in our state. I don't know if you read about the constitutional amendment I'm trying to get the voters to approve in a special election this November. Spanned over a 15 year period, it would reduce state taxes approximately 25% and then limit the percentage our government can levy on the people's earnings for taxes. The advocates of bigger and costlier government consider this proposal outright revolutionary; there is no trick or tactic they won't use in trying to defeat the measure"; and the second letter, December 31, 1973, in part: "We hope your Christmas was merry and that the new year brings you much happiness and good health." In overall fine condition, with staple holes to the top left corner of each letter. Accompanied by two original mailing envelopes.
