Tremendous example of this scarce 1959 Fleer Ted Williams display box, complete with two superb images of the Splendid Splinter. With most of the current major league players under Topps contracts, Ted Williams was inked to a deal with Fleer to produce an 80-card set of Williams. Sold in six and eight card varieties, the packs were used in this attractive display box, which stands as one of the most desirable in the hobby. One of Williams' most famous images is portrayed twice on the box: once on the front side, and a larger example on the box. This well known image was also used for the No. 63 card in the set, "Ted's All Star Record." While the top of the box contains some creasing at the perforation edges, all the corners are fully intact. There is also some very light pencil markings on the top, barely noticeable upon first glance. Light peripheral edge wear is standard for display boxes of this vintage, and despite the minor flaws, this box presents well and is stunning in its overall attractiveness. Very Good to Excellent overall condition.
