Description

A clever boxer (1915-1980) who liked to follow up a clean punch by grabbing his opponent, causing him to be known as 'The Clutch.' Angott retired with a record of 99 wins (23 KOs), 28 losses, and 8 draws. Vintage glossy 8 x 10 photo of Angott in a fighting pose, signed and inscribed in fountain pen, "To Ken Browne, Good Luck, Sammy Angott.” Reverse bears a typed collector's label indicating that it was obtained in 1950. In very good to fine condition, with scattered light creasing and a paperclip impression to the top edge.
