Three items: a matte-finish 8 x 10 portrait of Harris, signed and inscribed in the lower border in blue ballpoint, "To Joyce and Ken Browne, With Best Wishes, Arthur J. Goldberg"; a ballpoint signature and inscription, "To K. H. Browne, With best wishes, Arthur J. Goldberg," on an off-white 6 x 4.5 Supreme Court card; and a TLS on United Nations letterhead, one page, 8 x 10.5, May 10, 1948, in part: "Thank you for your very kind letter concerning my resignation as United States Representative to the United Nations…If during the past three years my service in this post has been of any use in advancing the cause of world peace, that service will have been worthwhile. I leave with a firm commitment to the objectives of the United Nations and a strong belief that we Americans cannot afford to slacken our support of the United Nations or our efforts to make it more effective." In overall very good to fine condition, with scattered light creasing to the photo and staple holes to the letter. Accompanied by the original mailing envelopes for the letter and Supreme Court card.
