Lady Gaga's screen-worn blue fox fur smock coat from her role as 'The Countess' in the 2015 FX television series American Horror Story: Hotel, seen in Episode 9, 'She Wants Revenge'; she is also seen with the smock in a few promo photos for the series. Interestingly, it was also worn on screen by Halle Berry in the 1998 film Why Do Fools Fall in Love. Conceived by legendary English designer Zandra Rhodes, the vintage circa 1970s electric blue fox fur smock has a plush purple satin lining printed with a pattern featuring her signature, and tags reading, "Zandra Rhodes Furs for Philip Hockley" and "Palace Costume Co." The heavy, sleeveless smock is embellished with several twisting golden braid tassels. In fine condition.
Accompanied by a detailed letter of authenticity from The Golden Closet, signed by Palace Costume Company CEO Melody Barnett, in part: "This robe was worn by 'The Countess' portrayed by Lady Gaga in the fifth installment (Hotel, 2015) of the hit FX anthology series American Horror Story…Lady Gaga wears the furs in Season 5 Episode 9 'She Wants Revenge,' when the Countess walks into Room 33 where her son, the monster 'Bartholomew,' is kept.
