Letter to Albert Halstead of the Springfield Union, in full: "Mr. Boyle has conveyed to me your congratulations. Please accept my thanks and best wishes." He adds a handwritten postscript: "I congratulate you upon what I am assured is soon to come—your marriage—may you & the young lady have all good things." In fine condition. McKinley had won the 1896 presidential election just days earlier on November 3rd, defeating Democratic nominee William Jennings Bryan.
