Two items: a glossy 8 x 10 photo of Senator Ted Kennedy in a half-length pose, signed and inscribed in the lower border in blue ink, "To Rodger—Best wishes, Ted Kennedy"; and a TLS signed "Ted Kennedy," one page, 8.5 x 11, United States Senate letterhead, December 19, 1989, addressed to Rodger W. Beets, in part: "Thank you for your kind letter, and I'm delighted to send you the enclosed photograph. I hope it arrives in time for Christmas! I'm especially grateful for your generous words about my work on the issues, especially in trying to bring help to all those who need our help the most," with Kennedy adding a postscript: "Don't worry—I'm watching out for those elephants. As they say in the circus, it's a big job, cleaning up after a big elephant!" In overall very good to fine condition, with a scratch to the signed photo.
