(Paramount, 1958) Original color 14 x 36 insert movie poster for the Paramount Pictures release of the 1958 science fiction film The Colossus of New York. Produced by William Alland, directed by Eugène Lourié, and starring Ross Martin, Otto Kruger, and Mala Powers, the movie concerns a scientist that transplants the brain of his brilliant but recently deceased son into the massive body of a frightening cyborg that soon supplants his son's benevolent mind with that of a sinister robot. The poster depicts the colossus with glowing eyes holding a woman against a nocturnal cityscape, with lower portion showing a fleeing crowd and an image of the monster hovering above a dozing Powers. Lower border bears an NSS caption line and is numbered "58/279." In very good condition, with a punch hole to the top border, and dampstaining and associated overall rippling.
