Exceptional circa 1880 sepia-tone 15.25 x 12.75 albumen print of the volunteer fire department of Worcester, Massachusetts, showing the 14-man crew in two rows wearing their dress uniforms comprised of flat-topped caps, white bow ties, black tunics with double-breasted shield form bibs, badges white gloves, and oversized belt buckles reading "WFD." Affixed to the original mount, which is signed in pencil on the reverse, "C. C. Elis," and marked "924." In fine condition, with some light spotty silvering to the lower left corner of the image.
