Japan—to Keijo capital of Korea—depart 11:40 AM, arrive Keijo 3:50 PM same day—I am writing this on a little pad I have in my pocket—in another letter sent out you have air-log of the trip—beautiful day—sun & ideal for air travel—safe as it is in the U.S.—tri-motor Topper—Wright engine planes about an hour after leaving Japan lose sight of the mainland, but at no time lose sight of some land—Tsushima Island in the Korean channel in sight big part of way—see Korea about 1 PM, change planes at Urusan Korea (called Tyosen, or Khosen)—the people wear funny-looking high head-gear & white dresses—got a glimpse of them at the air-port—bigger (taller) than the Japanese—men & women in white—now riding smoothly over Korea (2:50 P.M.) due in one hour at Keijo=Seoul—rather mountainous country with little villages in the valleys—small streams—we are travelling between 1500 & 2000 metres (I think) high (in other plane had (2) pilots & with me, radio man (8 seater) here—2 pilots—I am only passenger riding Fukuokato Keijo."
