Typescript of a poem entitled "Aspirations," one page, 8 x 13, signed at the conclusion in fountain pen, "Willa Sibert Cather." An apparently unpublished poem, beginning: "On the bridge bedecked with lanterns / That spans the sullen Seine, / The children their fete are keeping— / I can hear their laughter plain." In very good condition, with a few stains, corner loss, and the type extremely faded but entirely legible; Cather's uncommon full signature very bold. Accompanied by a small unsigned press photo of Cather. A desirable piece signed in full by the esteemed American writer, who remains better known for her novels (including O Pioneers!, The Song of the Lark, and My Antonia) than her poetry.
