Description

Wilder on Brecht, Turgenev, and Gogol

ALS, one page on a 3.5 x 5.5 photo postcard depicting the El Castillo pyramid at Chichen Itza, March 11, [no year]. Letter to critic and arts theorist Eric Bentley, written from "Chichen-Itza, Yucatan," in part: "Damn it. I lost the Stockholm address of those students, but if they're smart they'll find Brecht for the permission. I waive my royalties re: Lucrece. Let your publisher settle with Ober and the Cornell office…re: Turgenev and Gogol: public domain: shake up your own versions from all extant translations…and collect your royalties. You'll get rich and you'll deserve it." In fine condition.
