Description

Four lines of verse by esteemed writer and poet Bret Harte, penned in purple ink on an off-white 5.5 x 8.25 sheet. The poem, in full: "And on that grave where English Oak and holly / And laurel wreaths intwine, / Deem it not all a too presumptuous folly— / This spray of western pine!" Signed at the conclusion by Harte. In fine condition, with light soiling to the bottom.
