Scarce vintage color 16 x 20 print of Elvis in a red jacket, originally done by June Kelly, signed and inscribed in black felt tip to Emmy Award-winning producer Bob Finkel, “Bob, Thanks for everything, 'about the budget.' Elvis Presley.” In fine condition. These prints were given away at record stores to buyers of the Girl Happy album in the spring of 1965. Accompanied by a full letter of authenticity from JSA and a notarized letter of authenticity from Finkel's daughter, who notes that "the June Kelly print…was signed by and given to my father by Elvis Presley after they had worked together on the 1968 Comeback Special." Longtime television producer and director Bob Finkel collaborated with Presley on the latter's memorable 1968 Comeback Special. The show became an attempt to reestablish the Presley brand with a myriad of large musical numbers and elaborate set designs, plans that ultimately pushed the program's budgetary limits. During an on-set birthday party for Colonel Tom Parker, the King sang a parody of 'It Hurts Me' that began: 'It hurts me to see the budget climb up to the sky. It hurts me when Finkel gives me trouble, when I see all my money go just for one god-damned ol' TV show. It hurts me the way that Finkel spends my dough.'
