ALS signed “A. Johnson,” one page, 7.75 x 9.75, June 29, 1852. Written from Washington, D.C., a letter to "Lowry," in part: "Your letter has been received. The petition referred to in regard to the establishment of a Post Route etc—has been referred to the Committee on P. O. & roads and will be reported in the general bill. All new routes must first be established by law unless the receipts will pay the expense of carrying the mail, and I presume no one would be willing to carry the mail for receipts on the route. There can be nothing done till the general bill passes. It shall be attended to. There is no news of interest. The convention is now in session at Baltimore. Nothing definite done as yet." In fine condition.
