Description

"All of us are full of Music & Truth, but the most of us can't get it out"

Wonderful AQS on an off-white 4.5 x 7 stationery sheet from The Grand Hotel in Broadstairs, signed and dated at the conclusion: "Truly yours, Mark Twain, June 8, 1899." The quotation, in full: "All of us are full of Music & Truth, but the most of us can't get it out." In fine condition, with a smear to the date where Clemens changed "May 8" to "June 8." An exceptional musing from the sought-after wit, which was notably published in Carl Dolmetsch's Our Famous Guest, Mark Twain in Vienna.
