AMQS on an off-white 12.5 x 8 sheet, signed and inscribed below in ink, "A Monsieur Comte de Latour, souvenir de notre voisinage a Stuttgart [To Mr. Earl of Latour, souvenir of our neighborhood in Stuttgart], P. de Sarasate, 13 mars 1878." Sarasate pens a few bars from his most famous composition, 'Zigeunerweisen.' In very good to fine condition, with scattered light creasing, intersecting folds, and a stain to the paraph. 'Zigeunerweisen,' a piece for violin and orchestra, was composed in 1877-1878 and premiered in January 1878 in Leipzig. The classic composition remains in the repertoire of all leading violin soloists and has been recorded many times.
