Baseball manager (1911-1967) who helmed the St. Louis Cardinals from 1961-1964 and New York Yankees from 1965-1966; in 1964, his Cardinals made an epic comeback in the last two weeks of the season en route to the World Series championship. Two items: a vintage glossy 8 x 10 photo of Keane in his St. Louis Cardinals uniform, signed in blue ballpoint, "Best wishes, Johnny Keane"; and an ALS, one page, St. Louis National Baseball Club letterhead, November 4, 1963, in part: "Our Instructional School in St. Petersburg Fla. has taken a great deal of my time as have meetings in St. Louis and other parts of the country. The results of some of these meetings you have probably read in your papers today. I have signed a photograph and will send it under separate cover." In very good to fine condition, with scattered creasing to the photo. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope for the letter.
