American pediatrician (1877-1967) who devised the Schick test to determine susceptibility to diphtheria and also coined the term 'allergy.' Two items: an ANS signed twice, "Dr. Bela Schick," one page, 6 x 7, personal stationery, in full: "To Mr. Bernhard Baker, with best regards, Dr. Bela Schick, Dr. Bela Schick, I will try to find a Photograph and will send it"; and a vintage matte-finish 5 x 7 photo of Schick in a half-length pose, signed and inscribed in blue fountain pen, "To Mr. Bernhard Baker with best regard and hope of success in your life, Dr. Bela Schick, 25. July 1962." In overall fine condition. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope addressed in Schick's own hand.
