Description

Print of a political cartoon by Richard Bullis, 9.5 x 8.5, showing former President Harry S. Truman atop a donkey with a large toddler riding behind and saying: "Don't worry Grandpa, I'll be following in your footsteps!" Signed in the lower left in black ballpoint, "Harry S. Truman, 6-15-57." The print features four affixed typed captions, with two explaining that the "cartoon refers to the birth of his grandson born to his daughter, Mrs. Clifton Daniel (Margaret) on June 5, 1957" and that the print was signed "at Milwaukee Wisconsin on Democratic Convention." In very good to fine condition, with light toning along the right edge, and a small bit of old tape residue to the left edge.
