Hugely sought-after glossy 10.25 x 8 Track Record/MCA Records publicity photo of The Who's legendary drummer playing during the band's 1973-74 Quadrophenia tour, signed in the lower border in black felt tip, "Keith Moon, All the Best." In fine condition. Accompanied by two glossy photos of Moon during his January 1975 appearance on WLVI-TV's Gwen Dillard Show, as well as a signed letter of provenance from the original recipient, in part: “I…was the promotional director for WLVI-TV Channel 56 Boston in the mid-70’s when in January of 1975 Keith Moon was a guest on the station’s ‘Gwen Dillard Show’…Keith was there to promote his upcoming solo album and talked about what’s new with The Who. I also remember him drinking and smoking during the interview, He offered me a sip of his drink and it definitely wasn’t ginger ale! Keith was accompanied by a representative from his (and The Who’s) record label MCA/Track Records. It was from the record label rep I acquired this photo which Keith graciously signed upon my request. Keith was also nice enough to holdup a Groucho Marx t-shirt with the station logo to help us promote a Groucho Marx look-a-like contest WLVI-TV was hosting the third week of Jan. 1975…I attest that this is the original photo that Keith Moon signed for me during his appearance at WLVI-TV.” Signed photos of the Who's legendary drummer in such magnificent condition are extremely rare, with Moon's signature remarkably clean and bold and certainly among the very nicest examples we have ever encountered. An absolute must-have investment for the discerning Keith Moon and Who collector.
