Three TLSs in Italian, each signed "Federico," each one page, 7.75 x 11, personal letterhead, dated between 1985 and 1986. The letters are addressed to "Beni," the Italian film director Beni Montresor. The earliest, January 30, 1985, in part (translated): "I respond very quickly to your letter, because for three days I started filming my new movie. Thank you for the good wishes I exchange with great sympathy, and I will be glad to see you in New York in June," with Fellini adding a handwritten postscript. The second letter, July 8, 1985, in full: "Thank you for the affectionate letter, where you tell me that you were there that evening, and that you applauded, but why did not you show up? I appreciate your dissection, but I would have liked to see you. I received the book of Andersen's fairy tale with your beautiful drawings. Will you come to Rome? I should go back to New York towards the end of August. On that occasion I would like to see you again." The third letter, April 4, 1986, in full: "I am happy that you enjoyed the film so full and complete, and I thank you for the beautiful letter. I thought I saw you in New York, but you see that you were busy elsewhere. What are you doing in Dallas? Anyway, I should go back to America on this occasion, and on that occasion I hope to see you so we can talk about the project of La Strada, which I see is still close to my heart." In overall fine condition.
