An excerpt from We Seven, the autobiography of the original Mercury astronauts, in part: "All seven of us had slightly different reasons for wanting to become astronauts…But, in 1959, when the invitations were going out for test pilots to come and take a look at Project Mercury and see if they were interested in joining up, I was not too happy with what I was doing and I was eager to make a change." In fine condition, with some light creasing to the top.
