Description

Russian ballerina (1885-1978) renowned for her beauty, most noted as a Principal Artist of the Imperial Russian Ballet and later the Ballets Russes of Serge Diaghilev. After settling in England, she began teaching ballet professionally and would become recognized as one of the founders of modern British ballet. Vintage matte-finish 3.5 x 5.5 postcard photo of Madame Karsavina, signed and inscribed in fountain pen, and dated 1931. In fine condition, with a bit of light silvering.
