Exceptional partly-printed DS, signed “Edward P.,” one page, 21 x 16.5, December 27, 1928. The king appoints Cecil Bertrand as "Consul for the Republic of Estonia, to reside at Tallinn." Signed in the upper left by King Edward, Mary of Teck, and Prime Minister Stanley Baldwin, and countersigned below by Austen Chamberlain as the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs. In fine condition. When King George V fell seriously ill with septicaemia in November 1928, his eldest son and heir, Edward VIII, took over many of his duties. A decidedly uncommon document signed by several notable figures.
