Vintage matte-finish 9.75 x 13.5 Harris & Ewing portrait of Hughes wearing his judicial robe, signed and inscribed in fountain pen, "To Honorable Ira Lloyd Letts, with high esteem, Charles E. Hughes, January 31, 1935.” Lower left bears the studio blindstamp. In very good to fine condition, with a rough right border which could be somewhat successfully matted out to produce an impressive portrait. Letts was a federal judge on the United States District Court for the District of Rhode Island.
