Letter to author William Henry Rideing, in full: "In reply to yours of March 23'd, I am sending you a short article on 'How discoveries are made.' I hope you will be able to substitute it for the one you returned. I am quite familiar with Faraday's candle; but things have advanced so far since his time that he would have had much more difficulty in making his candle business. I am sending the paper to your address here; it will reach you about as soon as it would have reached Boston." In very good to fine condition, with a tear to the lower left edge.
