French military officer (1725-1807) who made a substantial contribution to the American Revolution, including a leading role in the defeat of Lord Cornwallis at the Battle of Yorktown in 1781. Partly-printed DS in French, signed “Rochambeau,” one page, 11.25 x 8.75, October 26, 1762. Untranslated official French and Indian War soldier's discharge certificate, signed in the upper right by Rochambeau. In very good to fine condition, with light soiling, and a circular area of seal-related paper loss to the upper left blank area.
