1776 autographs by the creator of the Syng inkstand, used to sign the Declaration of Independence

Renowned silversmith (1703-1789) who crafted the Syng inkstand, which was used in signing the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. Two ADSs, signed “Phil. Syng,” one page, 4 x 6.25, dated 1776. Handwritten receipts penned at the top and bottom of a single page, in full: "Rec'd the 14th of May 1776 of John Ellick Ten Pounds fifteen Shillings for a quarters Rent due the 8th of April last past, Phil. Syng" and "Rec'd the 12th of August 1776 of John Ellick Ten Pounds for a quarters Rent due the 8th of July Last, Phil. Syng." In overall fine condition, with scattered light stains. A fantastic pairing of autographs from a most historic summer.
