Description

Group of five items signed by noted American writers:

Sinclair Lewis
Two items: ALS, one page, 5.5 x 8.5, personal letterhead, July 23, 1937. Letter to Mr. Rugoff, in full: "I'd be delighted to see you if I were in town. But the secretarial job is already filled. Please give my thanks & greetings to Miss Lustgarten." Includes a black ink signature, "Sinclair Lewis, Apr. 16, 1943," on a beige 6.75 x 9.75 sheet. In overall fine condition.

Zane Grey
Two checks: a personal check, 6 x 2.75, filled out in another hand and signed by Grey, made payable to Tung Hing for $311.32, April 12, 1934; and a Security-First National Bank of Los Angeles check, 6 x 2.75, filled out and signed by Grey, made payable to Gus Bagnard for $5, April 11, 1937. In overall fine condition. Accompanied by a protest and receipt dated May 5, 1934, noting that "the drawer's account is insufficient and that therefore payment of the same was refused."

Arthur Miller
Magic Lantern Books business check, 8.25 x 3, filled out and signed in another hand, payable to Arthur Miller for $3, September 12, 1979. Endorsed on the reverse in blue ballpoint by Miller. In fine condition.
