Graded by PSA PR 1. The 1951 Bowman Mickey Mantle true rookie card was issued a full year before the 1952 Topps offering. This example boasts bright, bold colors, a crisp image (this card is often a little out of focus) with several light creases, evenly rounded corners, and a small wax stain on the reverse. Despite these faults, this card has tremendous eye appeal, and is a very affordable example of Mantle’s rookie card, one which appears better than the assigned technical grade.
