TLS, one page, 8.5 x 11, personal letterhead, August 10, 1983. Letter to Win Pehrson, in part: "Although I am leaving my current position as a New York State Athletic Commissioner I will begin, next week, a new position as a part of the Mayor's Special Sports Advisory Board in N.Y.C. to deal with ALL sports in the City. As far as safety standards, the State of N.Y. has the most rigid and sophisticated rules yet seen and you can secure better information by contacting the Commission. As far as the best boxer I fought, I must say that no one was the best. But, Ingemar Johannson was the best puncher, Cassius Clay the best mover and no single asset could make anyone 'The Greatest,' but a combination of a lot of superior assets can make someone better. So, I am thankful that I never fought Joe Louis." In very good to fine condition, with scattered light creasing, a bit heavier at the bottom. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope.
