Flown heatshield plug recovered from the Apollo 10 Command Module Charlie Brown, presented in a cylindrical Lucite display, measuring 3″ in diameter and 2.5″ tall, etched on the bottom with black text, "Apollo X, May 18-26, 1969." In fine condition, with a few minor scratches. Heatshield plugs are made of a lightweight fiberglass honeycomb, which is hand-filled with an ablative resin material in order to limit heat exposure during re-entry. This originates from Command Module Pilot John Young's personal collection, and was previously signed across the top in black felt tip; the signature has faded to indecipherability.
