Screenwriter, playwright, and author (1888-1981) best remembered for her blockbuster comic novel, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, which earned even greater notoriety with its 1953 screen adaptation starring Marilyn Monroe and Jane Russell. TLS, one page, 6.25 x 6.25, personal letterhead, June 20, 1967. In part: "I think you have an excellent material for a book on the idea of literary geography. Hollywood would certainly be the habitat of numberless talented writers. I wish I might give you some suggestions of any of the studios that might be of help but, I have been away from Hollywood for over 25 years and I hardly know anybody in the movies any more…I am having lunch with Janet Flanner who arrived today from Paris. I shall take it upon myself to give her your regards." In fine condition, with scattered creasing.
