ALS, one page, 7.25 x 10.25, personal letterhead, September 24, 1990. Letter to an admirer, in part: "I hardly know how to tell you how dismayed I was to find, just now, this book you mailed me last March. The package was lying in a stack of things of my own, in a corner of my working room, unopened…You must have changed your mind about my good sense and judgment. Please forgive me if you can by this time! I get a lot of books to sign and mail back and so had not been rightly aware…I do love that little book—it's beautifully made, isn't it?—and am so glad you have such a fine copy, for I appreciated your thoughtful and generous remarks on what I'd written." In fine condition. Accompanied by the original transmittal envelope, addressed in Welty's hand.
