Desirable AQS on an off-white 4.5 x 7 sheet of personal letterhead, signed at the conclusion in bold ink, "W. B. Yeats, July 2, 1924." Yeats pens the famously enigmatic aphorism from the introductory poem to his 1914 work Responsibilities. In full: "'Only the wasteful virtues earn the sun.'" In fine condition, with light creases and toning, and a couple rust marks to the top edge.
