Description

ALS in German, written inside a 4.25 x 6 card, postmarked December 12, 1972. Letter to film journalist Albin Poetzsch, in part (translated): "I am writing something to you guiltily! Thanks for the nice book and the birthday wishes. And now quite fast the reason why I did not write: I was operated on more than 6 1/2 months ago (gallbladder). The operation was a success but after 2 months an infection set in and a tiny 2mm wound did not heal. No pain, no inconvenience except great fatigue and a lot of sleep. Sitting at the desk for 1/2 hour makes me endless tired. So please do not be angry…For today only so much: Merry Christmas and a very very successful new year!" In fine condition. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope.
