Description

Revolutionary War general and founder of the military school that became West Point (1750-1806). ALS signed “H. Knox,” one page, 7.25 x 9, January 16, 1795. Letter to General Henry Jackson at Boston, in part: "The gentleman who will deliver you this is Mr. John George Williams who has an intention to visit the district of Maine and will perhaps form a settlement there. This Gentleman may remain some time in Boston. I pray you to cause him to experience the urbanity and hospitality of the place." In fine condition.
