Description

Legendary organized crime leader (1902-1983) who headed the notorious ‘enforcement’ syndicate Murder, Inc., which emerged in the early 1930s as successor to the warring Prohibition gangs and the old-line Mafia, and continued to operate into the 1950s. The National Shawmut Bank of Boston check, 6.25 x 2.75, filled out and signed by Lansky, payable to Benjamin Tishler for $20, December 10, 1938. In fine condition, with light show-through from a vertical strip of old adhesive residue on the reverse.
