TLS signed “W. McKinley,” one page, 5.25 x 8.25, personal letterhead, June 29, 1896. Letter to George Dana of Utica, New York, in full: "Please accept my congratulations on your own behalf, and convey to Mrs. Dana my thanks for the telegram of congratulations sent by you." In fine condition, with a few small areas of old adhesive residue. Accompanied by a portrait bearing a facsimile signature. McKinley had received the Republican nomination for president only eleven days earlier at the 1896 Republican National Convention in St. Louis.
