TLS signed “Wm. H. Taft,” one page, 5 x 8, War Department letterhead, June 25, 1908. Letter to Charlie A. Ricks of Detroit, in full: "I beg to acknowledge the receipt of your favor of the 19th of June, and to thank you for remembering me and for your kind words of congratulations." Matted and framed with a plaque and portrait to an overall size of 15.5 x 13. In fine condition. Ricks had likely sent Taft a congratulatory message after the then-secretary of war secured the Republican nomination for the presidency at the Republican National Convention on June 19, 1908.
