Description

From "Brad" to "Dad," a collection of family correspondence

Collection of Brad Delp’s personal family correspondence, including three items signed by Delp: a 1984 birthday card to his wife Micki, signed inside in ballpoint, “Happy? Love! ’84,’ Brad”; a birthday card to his son John-Michael, signed and inscribed inside, “Hope you can use this to increase the pile on your bedroom floor. Happy 17th, Merry Christmas! *I bet mom wishes she found this card for you. John-Michael! Love, Dad xoxox”; a 2005 Christmas card sent to his wife Micki, signed and inscribed inside, “Micki, Snow kidding! Merry Christmas! Hope you win millions, Much love, Brad, ’05,” with a lottery ticket taped inside, in its original mailing envelope. Other items include: a printed 1991 birthday card given to Brad Delp for his 40th birthday; a wedding card from Delp’s parents for the marriage of Brad and Micki; a florist’s card sent with wedding flowers given by Tom and Cindy Scholz (with two envelopes, one misspelling Delp’s surname as “Delt”); a 1984 Christmas card from the family of Boston bandmate Gary Pihl; and a 1987 letter sent to Delp by his young daughter Jennifer with its original envelope, addressed to “Fielding Mellish,” the name Brad used for booking hotels while on tour. Micki Delp notes that Brad carried this note from his daughter with him throughout the Third Stage Tour, bringing it home with him at the end. In overall very good to fine condition. From the Brad Delp Collection, and accompanied by a letter of provenance from Micki Delp.
