Description

American physicist (1898-1988) who won the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1944 for his discovery of nuclear magnetic resonance, which is used in magnetic resonance imaging. Souvenir typescript, one page, 8.5 x 11, signed in blue ballpoint, "I. I. Rabi." An excerpt from a piece by Robert M. Hutchins, entitled "Scientists As Professors," in part: "I do not know much about science, but I know a lot about scientists. Though I do not know much about professional politics, I know a lot about academic politics—and that is the worst kind. Not only is academic politics the worst kind of politics, but scientists are the worst kind of academic politicians." In fine condition, with light mottled toning.
