Prince's personally-owned luxurious antique-style lamp with lavish lampshade, measuring an overall 31″ tall, featuring an ornate brass-colored base with a polished orange spherical stone in the center. The silken lampshade is of faded peach color and has panels embroidered with pink-and-green floral designs alternating with panels bunched at the center, and elegant peach and cream-colored tassels descend from the edge. In very good to fine condition, with some tiny spots of staining to exterior and tears to the fabric lining the lampshade; working condition is unknown, and the cord is frayed at the plug. The overall visual appeal still remains quite impressive. From the collection of singer-songwriter Susannah Melvoin, an extended member of the Revolution during the Parade era, who shared a longterm working musical relationship with and was engaged to Prince during the 80s. Accompanied by a letter of provenance from Susannah Melvoin. Melvoin affirms that this lamp originates from the master bedroom of Prince’s Galpin house in Chanhassen, Minesota, his main residence and recording studio while Paisley Park finished construction. Although not quite to the extent of purple, Prince went through a considerable phase with the color 'peach' during the late 1980s. Oversized. Please contact RR Auction for a shipping quote.
